My name is Robert Cantu, my usual handle is some form of Orpheus (ie. orpheus2000, orpheusm3, orpheus2003, etc.) To the right is a picture of me, it's the best I could find. Below that is a picture of me and my wife Imelda (Mel). We've been married for a little over three years. I'm currently 24 years old, and am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. I majored in Computer Science with a minor in Math. Ironically, I hate math with a passioni; it just comes with the CS degree since you have to take so much. I graduated May 2003. I used to work at CS as a systems administrator. Now I'm training to be a consultant with Perfect Order, Inc.. They're based in Pennsylvania but have a solid customer base in the Oklahoma area. It's most definitely the best job I've had; I'm getting certified in Sun, Microsoft and Cisco (hopefully), I have actual peer coworkers that meet and exceed my level of geekery (shut up, I know it's not a word), and I'm doing what I love. I hail from McAllen, Tx, which is about as far south of the U.S. as you can get before running into Mexico along the tip of Texas. Graduated from McAllen Memorial, and usually spent all my time either at the ROTC building, or practicing cello or guitar. I play two instruments proficiently enough for both casual and professional performance: cello and classical guitar. I've had nine and seven years experience, respectively. Recently, I've begun playing for the public at various venues with my guitarist partner Beth McKee. They're like nothing you would expect from a fraternity at at major state school. |
